On June 26 and 27, GEO-LDN took part in the German Group on Earth Observations (D-GEO) Working Group made up of representatives of German federal ministries, specialist organisations and research institutions to discuss further use of earth observation and in situ systems as well as promotion of an open data policy.

The D-GEO Working Group is the German part of the international Group on Earth Observations (GEO) network, which connects experts in earth intelligence across government institutions, research institutions, data providers, businesses, engineering as well as scientific communities. At present, GEO has 116 member state and 154 partner organisations. The D-GEO Secretariat is hosted by the German Aerospace Center (DLR).

As a GEO flagship and work programme activity, GEO-LDN is excited about collaborating and synergizing with national GEO members such as D-GEO. Meanwhile, D-GEO also seeks to give more visibility to flagships such as GEOGLAM and GEO-LDN, which receive support from the German government, and generally explores engagement in international cooperation. The intersection in interests and expertise would likely inspire more collaboration in the future.
