GEO-LDN meets D-GEO in Munich

On 26–27 June 2025, GEO-LDN participated in the German Group on Earth Observations (D-GEO) Working Group meeting, bringing together representatives from German federal ministries, specialist organisations and research institutions to discuss expanded use of Earth observation and in situ systems and to promote an open data policy.

About D-GEO

D-GEO is Germany’s node within the international Group on Earth Observations (GEO) network, which connects experts in Earth intelligence across government, research, data providers, business, engineering and scientific communities. GEO currently includes 116 Member States and 154 Participating Organisations. The D-GEO Secretariat is hosted by the German Aerospace Center (DLR).

GEO-LDN’s engagement

As a GEO Flagship and work programme activity, GEO-LDN is committed to collaborating and creating synergies with national GEO members such as D-GEO. D-GEO, in turn, aims to raise visibility for GEO flagships, including GEOGLAM and GEO-LDN, which are supported by the German government, and is exploring avenues for broader international cooperation. This alignment of interests and expertise lays the groundwork for deeper collaboration going forward.
