What is in the LDN Toolbox?

The LDN Toolbox is a curated entry point to help users select the right analytic tools and methods for monitoring land degradation and planning restoration. Structured along the land use planning cycle, it features applications like Trends.Earth, LandPKS, and KoBo Toolbox, enabling countries to combine satellite data with field feedback for effective LDN action.

Calculating Soil Loss as a Basis for Restoration

GEO-LDN has integrated the IMPACT Toolbox, developed by the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre, into its Toolbox. Featuring the Revised Universal Soil Loss Equation (RUSLE), this free, open-source tool helps identify erosion-prone areas, improve land monitoring and reporting, and design targeted strategies for sustainable land management at national and local levels.

LDN Toolbox Training at RCMRD, Nairobi

GEO-LDN organised a Training-of-Trainers (ToT) on the LDN Toolbox in partnership with the Regional Centre for Mapping of Resources for Development (RCMRD), Conservation International (CI) and WOCAT (World Overview of Conservation Approaches and Technologies). Participants included: Training materials developed by WOCAT are available on the WOCAT website; additional materials will be shared here soon.
