GEO-LDN supports Desertification and Drought Day

On 17 June 2024, GEO-LDN joined the UNCCD’s 30th anniversary and Desertification and Drought Day in Bonn, supporting events with interactive outreach and logistics. Beyond the observance, GEO-LDN launched an e-learning course, a decision support system, a helpdesk, and the #HowtoLDN campaign thus strengthening global efforts towards Land Degradation Neutrality.

E-learning Course on Land Cover

Launched on 21 March 2024, the free e-learning course “Using Land-Cover Information to Monitor SDG 15” equips technical officers and practitioners with skills to apply land-cover data in tracking SDG indicators 15.3.1 and 15.4.2. Developed by FAO, UNCCD, GEO-LDN and GIZ, the course supports global efforts toward Land Degradation Neutrality.

GEO-LDN Launches First Online Support Session
7. May 2024
On 19 March 2024, GEO-LDN launched its first Online Support Session, building on the momentum of the Global Dialogue Forum 2023. Fourteen intersectoral country teams shared progress and challenges on their LDN roadmaps, engaging with international experts for peer-to-peer exchange, technical support, and feedback to improve geodata tools and strengthen SDG 15.3.1 reporting.
